Aruba Mobile Device Access Control (MDAC) secures, provisions and manages network access for Apple® iOS and other employee-owned mobile devices. By enforcing network access and quality of service policies for mobile devices, MDAC enables Wi-Fi networks and helpdesk processes to scale in support of bring-your-own-device initiatives.
MDAC also works in conjunction with third-party Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions that perform hardware control, device configuration and application distribution to mobile devices. What makes MDAC unique are its three key technology components – device fingerprinting, device registration and device visibility – which are detailed below.
Device Fingerprinting |
Device Registration |
Device Visibility |
| Aruba Mobility Controllers, powered by ArubaOS, incorporates Device Fingerprinting technology, which is designed to automatically classify wide variety of wired and Wi-Fi enabled devices; for instance, an employee owned Apple® iPad®. This device-level information enables IT organization to apply centralized network access and QoS policies, without requiring manual device or network configuration changes. | Aruba Amigopod Access Management Software can enable IT organizations to authorize personal smartphones, tablets, laptops and even wired devices before they log on to the network. For instance, AmigoPod can remotely install 802.1x EAP-TLS authentication certificate on an Apple® iOS devices, enabling registration and authorization with any IT touch. | As the wide variety of employee owned devices appear within the enterprise network, enterprise IT can utilize Aruba’s AirWave Network Management Software Software to enable per-device monitoring, reporting, location tracking, inventory management and many more. |
